Industry surveys are designed to give an overview of an industry or sector as a whole and usually cover such issues as profitability, sales, average selling prices, costs, asset utilisation, employee numbers and productivity, etc.
For example, companies in a particular sector may want to know how profitable their industry is and how this has changed in recent years. Crucially, companies will want to know how their performance compares with that of the industry as a whole and where they stand in relation to other companies. A typical question might be is our employee productivity in the upper quartile of results or merely average.
As an example, we recently completed such a report for a leading British based trade association that looked at all these factors in detail.
Again, these services are often run through a trade association or on behalf of a group companies that represent a high proportion of industry sales.
